Industrial buyers rarely find a manufacturer through a website. They usually arrive with a part number, a recommendation from a distributor or a spec from an engineer, and they come to confirm, download and ask for a price. If your site makes that hard, they call a competitor whose site doesn't. Count how many of these 12 points your site passes.
Products and specs
- Every product has its own page with the specs buyers filter by: sizes, ratings, materials, standards.
- Spec sheets and cut sheets download as PDF, with the current revision and date on them.
- Submittal documents are easy to gather: spec sheet, installation instructions, warranty and listings in one place.
- Part numbers are searchable from the site search, including old numbers that customers still use.
Getting a quote
- The quote form asks the right questions: part numbers, quantities, delivery location and date, not just name and email.
- Where to buy is clear: direct sales, distributors by region, or both.
- Phone and email are on every page, and someone answers the same business day.
Trust
- Industries and applications are explained with real photos of your products installed, not stock images.
- Certifications and listings are accurate: only the ones each product actually holds, ideally with the certificate or listing number.
- Company basics are visible: location, years in business, capacity, who to contact.
Reach
- Key pages and documents exist in Spanish if your installers, crews or counter staff work in Spanish.
- It works on a phone at a job site: pages load fast, PDFs open, and each product page has its own title and description so Google can index it.
How to read your score
- 10 to 12: your site supports sales. Focus on getting more of the right people to it.
- 7 to 9: you are losing quotes in specific places. Fix the missing points in the first two groups first.
- 6 or fewer: buyers are probably calling or emailing for information the site should give them, or going elsewhere.
What to fix first
Start with points 2 and 5. Current spec sheets that download in one click and a quote form that collects part numbers and quantities will do more for sales than a redesign. Then work on product pages and product content, and when the whole site needs to change, see our industrial website design.
Missing more than three points?
We build spec sheet libraries, product pages and B2B websites for manufacturers, in English and Spanish.
